ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Tara LaTour Lindemeier grew up in the Minneapolis suburb of Chaska, MN. Growing up Tara was constantly surrounded by her large family which molded her into much of what she is today. She has always been thankful to have had such a strong support system and encouragement throughout her life. She considers her parents, siblings, grandmothers and her high school dance coaches as the people who influenced her life the most.
From the time she was small she always loved two things, art and dance. As a child she fell in love with dance, which has been a constant in her life. She is still involved in the dance world and considers it to be one of the most important and significant things she has ever done in her life. Tara attributes much of the work ethic and determination to what she learned from dance.
After high school, Tara attended St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, MN, where she focused on dance. Due to an injury, Tara stopped dancing and looked to pursue other adventures. That led her to the world of high end sales of items such as fine jewelry and wedding gowns. However it was her desire to design such items that brought her back to school to further her education. This led her to San Francisco where she attended the Academy of Art in their Fashion Design program and worked for the Vera Wang Bridal Salon at Saks Fifth Avenue. While there Tara became certain that bridal design was the fashion avenue she wanted to pursue.
Eventually Tara transferred to Parson New School for Design in New York to finish her education in fashion design. In 2010, Tara created her first full bridal collection, which has been very well received. Currently Tara provides clients with gowns made on a custom basis only, however she soon hopes to be launching her brand to be picked up by salons nationwide.
Tara's bridal gowns are made to be both unique and wearable. She is known for attention to detail and hand-done fabric treatments that create an ethereal, romantic, and timeless feeling. She also is a huge believer in the presence of color in wedding gowns, which can be seen in all of her collections. When designing, Tara often looks to her family and where is from for inspiration. In the words of Tara, "I am really proud of where I come from, the family I have around me and the experiences I have been fortunate to experience. Those are the things that I find inspiration in and drive me to continue."
